Pepperoni Roll-Ups

By

Pepperoni Roll-ups are fairly easy to make with kids who particularly like anything they can put together. An adult will need to place the pizza rolls in the oven and remove them from the oven.

These make a great finger food for birthday parties.  They also work well for movie nights, sleepovers, or for a bowl game or basketball madness party spread.

Ingredients

1 (8-ounce) package crescent-shaped rolls

24 small round slices of pepperoni

4 slices provolone cheese

Directions

  1. Position 2 pieces of crescent roll dough on an ungreased cookie sheet.

  2. Press the seams together to form a rectangle with the dough.

  3. Place 6 round slices of pepperoni on the rectangle of dough.

  4. Top with a slice of provolone.

  5. Roll up one end to form a tube; press the end edge slightly to seal.

**Note: The cheese slice may be hanging over the ends of the tube slightly.**

  6. Repeat the process to make 4 tubes, total

  7. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

No sauce is included in the actual roll-up but the roll-ups can be served with a variety of sauces. Two of the most popular with kids are ranch dressing or a simple marinara sauce.

For an extra special touch, sprinkle each roll-up with grated parmesan cheese and dried oregano just before baking.

This recipe also works well witht the following ingredient combinations as fillings:

  • Ham and Mozarella, Provolone, or Cheddar cheeses
  • Salami and Swiss cheese
  • Pastrami or Turkey Pastrami and Swiss cheese
  • Mushrooms and Mozzarella cheese
  • Broccoli (finely chop) and Cheddar Cheese
  • Red onions (thinly sliced), black olives, and Mozzarella cheese
  • Cream cheese, Cheddar Cheese (shredded) and green chiles
  • Cream cheese,Cheddar Cheese (shredded) and sliced jalapeños
  • Granny Smith apples (shredded or sliced thinly) and Cheddar cheese
  • Granny Smith apples (shredded or sliced thinly) and Blue cheese
